Jakarta to Surabaya in an Ioniq 5: 780 km, 3 charges, 1 queue.
PLN says 1,200 SPKLU by end of 2025. Reality on the Trans-Java toll: 40kW average on a 150kW post, one broken plug per site, and a warung queue longer than charging.
- Jakarta-Cikampek: PLN Rest Area 57 & 62 - 2x 60kW, reliable, 45 min to 80%.
- Semarang-Solo: Private (Voltron) - 120kW, pay by kWh, 30 min. Best stop.
- Surabaya: Hotel chargers - 7kW AC overnight, free if you ask nicely.
- Bali: PLN Sanur - often offline. Backup: Hyundai dealer.
Range Math
Ioniq 5 LR (72.6kWh) does 400 km at 110 km/h with AC. Jakarta-Bali (1,200 km) needs 4 stops, 2.5 hours charging. Pack a Type 2 cable and the PLN app - 30% of posts need it.
